Don’t be a “lurker” in social media
Posted: July 8, 2011 | Author: Tim Hart | Filed under: Social Media | Leave a comment »In most online communities, 90% of users are lurkers who never contribute, 9% of users contribute a little, and 1% of users account for almost all the action.
Make some noise.
Show some interest in people around you.
Communicate that you are human.
Post some pictures of your environment.
Complain, but less often than you are inclined.
Compliment twice as often as you complain.
Try out new features with an open mind.
Say “Hi” to someone everyday.
Just, don’t get fired.
Let’s end lurking by encouraging others to participate. Social media will get boring and die without it.
